Zanzibar is a small island nation with a whole LOT to offer. From it's world-renowned white sand beaches, to the spice plantations that gave it the name Spice Islands, you'll soon discover why this little archipelago is quickly becoming one of the most sought after destinations in the world. Your tour will begin in Stone Town-- the unofficial island capital --where you'll have a full day to get lost among it's enchanting alleyways. Wind your way through the aromatic spice stalls, restaurants, colorful textile markets, and important monuments that make this historic trading port a truly unique city. Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site full of rich cultural influence; it's the historic center of the East African slave (and ivory) trade; the birthplace of Queen's lead signer, Freddie Mercury; and once upon a time home to Arab, Indian, and Persian princesses whose palaces still stand today--some of which you can visit. It's a city that deserves more time than this tour offers, so we highly recommend adding an extra day (or two) to your trip here in order to experience it to the fullest. The remainder of your trip will be spent on one of the islands idyllic beaches where you'll enjoy soft white sand, clear blue turquoise waters, epic sunsets and sunrises, and relaxation at it's finest.
